She was graduated from Sacred Heart Academy, Fall River and earned a B.A. Sister ministered in the Diocese of Burlington as a teacher at St. Peter and at Christ the King Schools in Rutland; St. Mary School, Fair Haven and at St. Michael's School, Brattleboro where she served as teacher and as principal. Sister Helene taught for many years at schools in the Springfield Diocese beginning with St. Mary School, Westfield, Mass. Sister Joyce was 86 years old and had spent 66 of those years as a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyon. Sister Gertrude entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1947 from St. Joseph Parish, Pittsfield, having graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1939 and Berkshire Business School in 1941. Sister Dominica entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Vermont from St. Peters Parish, North Walpole, N.H. She was educated in the North Walpole schools.
